Ashlyn's Single Ladies Party

Ashlyn is a fun loving girl that beats to her own drum...she doesn't do a party because that's what all of her friends did...She picks what she wants to do months in advance and plans that whole time what she wants it to be like. This year she decided she wanted a chipette's birthday party and that she wanted the invitations to say "All the Single Ladies" like they sing on the movie. It was pretty difficult to plan since NO ONE carries anything that is alvin and the chipmunks or the chipettes. I had to rely on friends who had one or two of the chipette figurines that mcdonald's sold in happy meals a while back! We started by just using the colors that the girls wear in the movie, bright pink, bright purple, and bright green. It turned out really cute. She wanted to play Pin the bow on Brittney, so her VERY talented Uncle Jon drew this really cute picture on poster board and Ashlyn LOVED it! Then we got a pinata in the same colors...

We had hot dogs for lunch because Ashlyn loves hotdogs...then we had a kareoke party. Ashlyn loves the older girls at church and always wants to sit with them and hang out with them...so what better way to have a kareoke party then to have those cute girls dress up like the chipettes and start by singing all the single ladies...I wish I would have gotten a picture of the little girls faces as they just sat there in awe of the older girls watching them...so cute! Ashlyn loved all of her gifts....her favorites were the SOCKS (she LOVES socks) and her new polka dotted swim suit!!!! (I don't know what she loves more, socks or polka dots...) And this is why we love this cute girl!!!!

The one bad thing about going to digital cameras and having your stuff all in storage is that I don't have many pictures right now of Ashlyn except for the ones taken in the last 18 months, but we LOVE this girl so much...Here are some random fun pictures of her and you can totally see all of her personalities that we LOVE so much!!!!!This girl has a style all her own...mom tries to let her explore it...its hard for mommy though!
Her first ballet recital...it was freezing cold outside, her bracelet fell off in the performance, and she just kept dancing! We were so proud of her.

First day of preschool





My sweet little girl Ashlyn is 4 years old today. WOW to think about where we were at in our lives while I was pregnant with her...We started in West Valley, UT then a few months into the pregnancy moved in with Wil's parents because Wil got his job he has now with the railroad, then a week before I had this sweet girl we moved to our own place in Visalia....WE loved our ward and all of our friends there! Ashlyn was having a hard time wanting to stay for 40 weeks...at about 34 wks I started having complications that kept me in the hospital for several days at a time. We got her to 37 weeks exactly and it was time to induce. I remember driving up to the hospital in the early morning...so excited to finally see my little girl. My mom was there to entertain Zach. We got to the hospital at 6:00am and Ashlyn was born at 3:30p.m. For a few weeks before her delivery I kept telling the Dr. that something wasn't right and she needed to be born. They finally did it after I made the Dr. sign a paper stating that he would take her on this specific day. Our doctor said well you are only a 5 so I am going to go back across the st. to my office and I'll be back in a couple of hours. About 20 minutes later I told Wil that I needed the nurse. She called the Dr. to tell him to come back to the hospital it was time...they said that he was in his car driving back over and the light was out so he was stuck behind about 40 cars at this now 4 way stop...I remember saying this baby is coming out whether he is here or not....he walked in and literally caught the baby. When Ashlyn was delivered the Dr. Said it was a good thing we took her when we did...your placenta was about dead and had holes all over...I was thinking I tried to tell you! We are so blessed that she was born so healthy and she is such a fun spirited girl that we love very much. Happy Birthday to my sweet Ashlyn girl!

Okay so whoever thought it was a great idea to give all of the little kids that were watching the game a balloon was sorely mistaken...every few minutes one would get away from the kid, that kid would cry and the kids on the field would look up and watch it float away!

Well Zach had his first TBall game on Saturday and since my little camera sucks...my friend got some cute pictures of Zach out on the field...I got a lot on video though! He is having so much fun this year in baseball and we are LOVING watching him play.

Kellie Pickler The best pictures I got were from the big screen...When I tried to get pictures of them while zooming in, everyone elses flashes were screwing up the pictures.

This mama was so excited for a night out with a good friend. We won a bid on ebay for two tickets to the Kellie Pickler and Taylor Swift concert. It was so fun! Kellie Pickler sprained her ankle a couple of days before, so she wasn't very exciting to watch sit in a chair and sing...but Taylor Swift was a great entertainer and we had a lot of fun! We had pretty good seats. We were about 12 rows back in the stadium seating.

Tiling a bathroom

Ripping up the padding that was under the carpet then the tack strips...that was the easy part.
My mom cleaning up all of the dirt under there...my mom cleans up even when you are going to make another mess on top of it...

It was one heavy crapper for me and my dad to carry out into the backyard...and yes we are okies so we sat on it for kicks while it was in the backyard!!!!
Don't let the smile fool you I HATE TILING AND EVERYTHING ASSOCIATED WITH IT!
My mom and I must have laid the tiles out 7 different times...and not because I am picky!
Here we are with all of the mortar laid down and all of the full tiles put in place.
My dad did all of the cutting of tiles and that was a nightmare.........
Yes my mom and I did all of the grout with our fingers the tool we bought didn't work...Shocker!!! That's how the whole project went.

I'm impressed...I don't know about you! Then got the baseboards back in. We finally got the toilet back in, but it broke because the ground isn't so level now that it is tile and not carpet! OOPS. so it still isn't totally finished!

So my mom got this great idea to rip up the carpet in her bathroom one night...She got it about a 1/4 of the way ripped up when I walked in there and that is when the nightmare truly began...I will NEVER tile again...I will leave it to the professionals!

Here are pictures from start to finish of our 3 week long tiling process...When we went to Home Depot, me, my mom, my dad, and my three kids the guys at the store kept laughing and saying good luck...They were right!
